And does he know his sailors are near starvation and degrading hygiene items? Yet, in someone's cruelness halted all mail to the middle east, so families can't send them anything.
Of course, Lindsay Graham has finally said the quiet part that we all knew was coming out loud: it's the taxpayers who will be on the hook for this. All those hypothetical pledges that billionaire donors have made -- well, the checks haven't quite cleared yet, so he'll gladly pay us back Tuesday for a ballroom construction today. And we'll get our money back in the form of -- lower inflation or something. As for what the next President should do with that monstrosity -- turning it into a warehouse or a dirigible hangar isn't enough. It needs to come down, and be replaced with a smaller East Wing, not necessarily a perfect replica of the old one, but one that still restores the symmetry and balance of the design. Better yet, the huge ballroom should never be built in the first place, and the next President should get to decide what will go into the muddy construction site above the bunker.
Trump’s a multi-billionaire, right? If he wasn’t before this last election, he certainly is now. Why doesn’t he simply donate the money to the US Treasury to pay for it?!! Be all the better then when it’s torn down.
Paul, you’re forgetting two things: he destroyed the East Wing illegally (without congressional approval), and however much his toads contributed the monstrosity will still be gimcrack, like all of his edifices. It won’t be usable.
If Trump’s ballroom is indeed now proven essential for his safety and national security it should be completed asap and he should then be permanently ensconced within it for the remainder of his life.
Maybe he considers this a giant step up from the brothel run by his dear old Opa? Pyrite, or fool's gold, is the perfect reference. This vulgar, stupid man who claims to be a "very aesthetic person," is offensive in his bad taste, bad judgement, and illiteracy. And yet those are the least of his crimes.
I still can’t believe a disturbed old man’s obsessions have captured the Republican Party. I know, I know … but I still wake up to a new day and am yet again absolutely astounded.
Like the Germans used the Versailles hall of mirrors to declare their empire, perhaps the next Democratic president should use the ballroom to describe how Trump’s legacy is going to be eradicated.
All the donors who pledged funds to illegally build this vanity project?
They can be compelled to pay for its destruction, removal and restoration of the White House and its grounds to a pre trump state.
Good luck on finding mature trees that can be moved.
And if you're in construction locally, you might want to study up on masonry and plastering. Tearing that chintzy Hobby Lobby crap from the walls is going to require serious repairs.
are a couple of valid questions. Do we want our new battleships to be designed by a "very esthetic person" like Donald Trump? Or, do we want less esthetically pure battleships, designed by someone who understands naval design and how build a battleship that can hit hard, take a hit and keep on going? Do we "really" want to name our new battleship class to be named after the worst president in history?
My plan: As soon as Trump is no longer POTUS, I want him (or his estate, if need be) to be presented with a bill for restoring the White House and grounds and reflecting pool and everything else he has altered without authorization to its former state. It should be a big bill, a YUGE bill. There will have never been another bill like it.

IT'S HORRENDOUS!
US Navy Vet
I was going to write something similar. I’m not a veteran, so appreciate your statement.
Tiedrich calls it the Epstein Dance Hall™ 🤣

Why? Because Trump never pays for anything out of his own pocket. Ever.
Exactly. Don’t start construction until the check clears the bank, and bingo, the project is toast.
It should be turned into a courtroom specifically for Rump and his Regime to be held accountable.
And afterwards a memorial space for the war crimes, murders and abuses caused by trump the traitor and his agents.

Prevent its completion or destroy it.

Better idea: send him to Alligator Alcatraz for the duration. We don't need him anywhere near Washington.

Fundraising idea -$20 bucks to swing a sledgehammer and do your part to bring it down.
$150 for fifteen minutes in the bulldozer.
Commemorative hard hats for sale in the gift shop!
YES!! Excellent ideas.
I suspect Trump would try to sue to get a piece of the action

“Militarily Top Secret Ballroom” that Shit King won’t stop publicly discussing.
I have what I believe is

Someone Naval should correct me -- but isn't it supposed to be bad luck to rename a ship?
How much worse luck is it to name it after someone with no redeeming values?
Battleships are useless in war just like donnie is useless in everything
Outstanding. Love the ivermectin (or whatever it is) analogy.

Love your ideas for post -Trump uses for the ballroom, Paul!
It has always seemed to me to be the Donald J. Trump Mausoleum.
