I don't know - they might resent a "young white person who scolds them about being racist" more than an actual black or hispanic person. Obama carried Indiana, Iowa, and North Carolina somehow, while Hillary and Joe did not. And they can like a black person who parrots their ideological priors. See that guy who is running for Governor for North Carolina on the GOP ticket.

That said, any politician, partisan affiliated person or campaign affiliated person ever commenting out loud with analysis or opinions about large plurality or majority segments of the electorate or population is *political* malpractice. Best for politicians, especially politicians who want to *do things* to talk about what they have done, and want to do, for the most inclusive, undifferentiated members of the public, and only comment on demographic specific data when prompted by questions from representatives of those groups to show your value or track record to them.

Conservative supporters simply want a sadomasochistic transaction with their leaders. They'll tolerate any sort of meanness (if properly directed), neglect, and underperformance, as long as their leader performs as a *Top*. Pragmatic leaders, people who want to broadly help ordinary people in general, or specific historically and currently underserved groups, don't cut it at all with them because they are not playing to the *Top* type at all.
